Sips and Stories is a one-of-a-kind coffee shop located inside the Kendall Lakes Branch Library, operated by the students of Learning Links School.
This inspiring project began when Commissioner Roberto J. Gonzalez visited our campus and witnessed firsthand the incredible work our students were doing running the on-campus coffee stand. Impressed by their dedication and skill, he connected us with the Director of the Miami‑Dade Public Library System—and the rest is history. The result: a pop-up café opening in April 2025 at the Kendale Lakes Branch Library.
In April 2025, Sips and Stories officially launched inside the library. This program provides students with special needs the opportunity to gain independence, build confidence, and develop real-world work experience—all in an effort to equip them with the skills and training necessary for a path toward independent employment.
Not only do they make a delightful variety of hot and iced coffees, but they also sell delicious baked goods crafted by students through our culinary program. These pastries offer the perfect pairing to a fresh brew, showcasing the culinary talents of Learning Links students and enriching the overall café experience for patrons
